Some people will no doubt say I should not have appeared on Nigel’s show.
However, I think it was important to be there and talk about my City. I enjoyed our conversation.
Immigration has benefited Peterborough. Our local economy, our culture, and even our politics. Some of the best councillors we have are from communities that have arrived in Britain.
But year after year migration statistics of hundreds of thousands to the UK is just not sustainable. Not for local schools, doctors’ surgeries, and local housing needs. And not for Peterborough.
