We have had confirmation from the City Council they do not intend to sell off the centre - despite it previously being earmarked for disposal.
The Chief Executive emails me:
“we are not recommending a disposal of this asset to the market at this time.”
They want to work with the trustees to arrange a Community Asset Transfer to the Trustees. My office will work with them on this.
However, they go on to say:
“We cannot rule out a longer term option to dispose of the site but want to give the Centre every opportunity to remain.”
We shall have to keep on eye on this one!
