In the House of Commons I spoke out against NHS rationing of procedures in some parts of the country. Limiting hip and knee replacement procedures to patients with BMIs over under 30 (and 25 in sole extreme cases) is morally unjust.
At the Second Reading of the of new Health and Social Care Bill I also said that any replacement for the National Tariff should ensure we can deal with the elective surgery backlog emerging from the pandemic.
